Terms of Service

Effective date: April 1, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Generous Prayer (“Generous Prayer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). Generous Prayer is a product of Radical Advocacy, a United States 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (“Radical Advocacy”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use Sign in with Google, you also acknowledge that our use of Google API Services is subject to the Google APIs Terms of Service and the Google API Services User Data Policy, and that our Privacy Policy discloses how we access, use, store, share, retain, and delete Google user data. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Radical Advocacy. Your use of the Service confirms that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least thirteen (13) years of age to create an account or use the Service. If you are between thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) years of age, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf where required by law, and certain features or content that we designate as mature may be restricted or unavailable to you based on your age and applicable settings.

You must provide your date of birth when you sign up. That birthdate is used to enforce age-appropriate access and cannot be changed after registration. If you believe your birthdate was entered incorrectly at signup, contact support@generousprayer.org — we may require verification before taking any action.

3. Account Registration

You may maintain only one personal account on the Service unless we expressly authorize otherwise in writing. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and to update it as needed. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@generousprayer.org if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit, upload, or otherwise make available through the Service (“User Content”), including prayer requests, text, comments, profile information, and audio (including prayer-related recordings and voicemails). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to us.

To operate the Service, you grant Radical Advocacy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and distribute your User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service and in accordance with the privacy and visibility settings you select (including sharing with individuals, groups, or organizations you designate).

You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant the foregoing license and that your User Content does not violate these Terms or applicable law. You may remove or delete certain User Content subject to the Service’s functionality and these Terms (including retention periods described in our Privacy Policy and account lifecycle sections below).

5. Acceptable Use

Generous Prayer is built for prayer, encouragement, and respectful spiritual community. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with that mission.

Without limiting the foregoing, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, bully, or stalk any person, or encourage others to do so.
  • Post or transmit hate speech, content that demeans others on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics, or content that incites violence.
  • Spam, scrape, or use automated means to access the Service without permission, or to overload or disrupt the Service.
  • Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the origin of User Content; impersonate another person or entity; or create accounts to evade enforcement.
  • Misuse prayer features — for example, by using prayer requests, comments, or audio solely to promote unrelated commercial schemes, pyramid schemes, or deceptive fundraising; or to manipulate, guilt, or pressure others.
  • Share content that is obscene, excessively graphic, or sexually exploitative where prohibited by these Terms or by mature-content restrictions applicable to your account.
  • Violate intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others; or upload malware or code designed to harm or extract data from the Service or its users.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, circumvent security, or probe systems except as permitted by law.
  • Use the Service in violation of export control, sanctions, or other applicable laws.

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Audio Content

The Service may allow you to record, upload, or receive audio, including prayer voicemails and other voice messages tied to prayer requests. You must obtain any legally required consent before recording another person, and you must not record where prohibited by law.

Depending on your settings, other users may be able to leave prayer-related voicemails or audio responses for your prayer requests. You may disable or limit such features where the Service provides controls. By enabling those features, you understand that designated recipients may submit audio that we process and deliver according to your settings.

We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of audio from other users; report concerns through in-app tools or by contacting support.

7. Organizations & Groups

The Service may allow you to create, join, or manage organizations, groups, or similar communities (“Organizations”). If you create or administer an Organization, you are responsible for:

  • Choosing appropriate administrators and moderators and managing their permissions.
  • Ensuring that Organization activity complies with these Terms and applicable law.
  • Honoring any commitments you make to members (for example, regarding how prayer requests or audio will be shared within the Organization).

Before you delete your account, you must transfer ownership of any Organizations you own to another eligible member or dissolve or reassign them as the Service permits. If you fail to do so, we may take reasonable steps to prevent disruption to other users, including reassigning or archiving the Organization as described in the Service or support documentation.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. We process personal data in accordance with applicable laws, including, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

9. Account Suspension

Self-suspension. Where available, you may self-suspend your account. During self-suspension, your profile and presence may be hidden from other users as described in the Service, while we retain your data in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy so you can return without losing your account history, subject to deletion and retention rules.

Administrative suspension. We may suspend or restrict your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, pose a risk to the community or the Service, or are required to do so by law. We will provide notice where legally permitted and appropriate, and may offer a process to appeal mistaken enforcement.

10. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account through the Service or by contacting support. Unless you choose an immediate hard delete where offered, deletion may begin with a soft-delete or grace period of up to thirty (30) days during which you may cancel deletion and restore access. After that period, we may permanently delete or irreversibly anonymize your data as described in our Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention obligations.

If you reactivate a previously deleted or suspended account where the Service allows, a cooldown period of seven (7) days may apply before certain features or visibility fully restore, to protect the community and our systems.

Deleting your account may affect Organizations you own. You must transfer ownership or wind down Organizations as required in Section 7 before deletion where the Service requires it. We are not liable for loss of access to groups or content that depends on your continued account.

11. Subscriptions & Payments (Coming Soon)

Paid subscriptions or in-app purchases may be introduced in the future. If you subscribe, additional terms will be presented at purchase. Until then, this section sets expectations: if you delete your account while a paid subscription is active, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle to the extent permitted by the payment platform, and you remain responsible for any charges incurred prior to effective cancellation.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, visual design, text, graphics, logos, and compilation of content (excluding User Content), is owned by Radical Advocacy or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. The names “Generous Prayer” and “Radical Advocacy” and related marks are trademarks of Radical Advocacy. You may not use our trademarks or trade dress in connection with any product or service without prior written permission, except as necessary to identify the Service in plain descriptive text (for example, stating that you use Generous Prayer).

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Generous Prayer is a technology platform for prayer and community. It is not a substitute for professional counseling, medical or mental health care, pastoral care in person where you need it, or emergency services. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RADICAL ADVOCACY AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (IF ANY). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Radical Advocacy and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except that the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act governs arbitration as described below.

17. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution. Before initiating arbitration or litigation, you agree to contact us at support@generousprayer.org and attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute for at least thirty (30) days.

Binding arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and Radical Advocacy agree that disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration provider in accordance with its applicable rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service. YOU AND RADICAL ADVOCACY AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that does not allow certain arbitration or class-action waivers, those provisions apply only to the extent permitted by the laws of your jurisdiction.

18. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice by posting updated Terms on the Service (including generousprayer.org) and, where appropriate, through in-app or email notice. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will be updated when material changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

19. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for repeated or serious violations of these Terms or legal requirements. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including ownership, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution) shall survive termination.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving the parties’ intent.

21. Google Sign-In and Google API Services

If you use Google to sign in or link an account, you authorize us to receive Google user data from Google API Services only as described in our Privacy Policy (including the section “Google user data and Google API Services”). You agree that we will use that data in compliance with the Google APIs Terms of Service and Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements for sensitive and restricted scopes where they apply. If you revoke Google’s authorization or delete your Generous Prayer account, our retention and deletion practices are as set out in the Privacy Policy.

22. Contact Information
